10,000 zines and counting: a library's quest to save the history of fandom
I missed this piece when it came out (I worked with the University of Iowa on this project as the OTW liasion), but in fact I think much of fandom has since come to terms with having their work preserved as important.
I met with the archivist this August. They could really use help with the indexing. and need a fresh infusion of volunteers. These are old sci-fi fantasy fanzines from the 1930s onwards.
