astolat, you "started the AO3"?! in 2008? I hope I'm understanding your bio correctly. whatever has it been like to see it grow until today?
Here’s the original post where it all began back in 2007! (Well, actually this is the Dreamwidth import of the original post where it all began, because what’s happened to Livejournal is a perfect illustration of why we so badly need the AO3 and the OTW behind it.)
I’m pretty ridiculously proud of everything the OTW has built and how much of that original dream the whole team has made happen. It was also an amazing and often brutal learning experience in terms of understanding what it takes to make something on this scale work that kicked my ass repeatedly.
But the main thing is that now when I get into a new fandom and I desperately need to read ALL THE THINGS, I can just go and find them. :)
