HOLY BALLS, Fanfiction.net is TWENTY YEARS OLD. It opened in 1998! (I think in autumn, but wtf do I know, I was 17 and had a better memory.)
I just emailed a thank you note to Support because holy shit it’s been 20 years and those guys have been doing the work for twenty damn years. I mean, y’all are welcome to your own opinions about the platform, but GUYS. This was the first major (i use that word with precision) multi-fandom archive and it still exists right now.
Cuz. Y’know. We should kind of honor the work of people who built and shaped the culture we take part in? That’s just kind of polite?
