There should be a website specifically dedicated to collecting obscure history knowledge. For instance: Early internet culture, the history of say Neopets, Forum culture and signatures (including Blingee), the history of Gaia Online, the escapades of Anne Rice and similar against fanfiction and the rise of Ao3, 2012 homestuck culture / con culture
I see all kinds of interesting “history” posts on Tumblr concerning these sorts of things and it seems a shame that the information should go to waste eventually buried
I do believe we have something like this for fandom. It is called fanlore.org
