It is the summer of 1975 and this Star Trek fan was hard at work editing her fanzine, The Communicator. She is surrounded by paper tribbles, a by-product of The Fannish Writer in her natural habitat.

So… apparently this photo of my mother has been on Tumblr for like six months and someone finally managed to track her down and asked her permission to use it in an upcoming publication and it has totally made her week to know people are documenting fandom history so thoroughly. :D
Here’s a more overtly nerdy photo–she’s the one on the far right. Obsessive fandom apparently runs in the family.
