I recently reblogged a post about the LJ Strikethrough ‘07 (where about 500 user accounts, including a lot of fannish ones, were suspended by LJ because of a bit of moral panic), and thought people might be amused to see one of the icons that circulated ~in protest~ of the Strikethrough. (I seem to have lost any name for the icon’s creator, so if anyone happens to know, please let me know so I can credit them!)
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End had come out a little before the Strikethrough, and featured a little bit of a romanticized pirate-y anthem (sung in defiance of the Oppressive British). The refrain was seized on by outraged fandom folks as a sort of an anthem for Being Upset About Strikethrough, and so the icon is a nice little wordart animated gif featuring the refrain:
