Attention EU Star Trek fans!
Earlier I blogged about US sources where you could buy used fanzines. There are other, more cost effective resources available to fans wanting to read early Star Trek fan fiction. The KS Press has maintained a Fanzine Lending Library for decades. The EU branch has just published a list of its holdings and info on how to borrow zines. They have both gen and slash fanzines for loan.
“Fanzine Lending Libraries work by snail mail. They are thus the fannish equivalent to handwritten postcards, typewriters, vinyl records, vintage fashion, and craft-beer. Very hipster, very retro, if you will. As offline and analogue as it gets. You can look up the K/S Library’s catalogue in every issue of The K/S Press which is nowadays sent out to its subscribers by email. If you are not a subscriber, contact the editor (catalenamara at yahoo dot com) and sign up. You can also look which Star Trek and K/S goodness the European branch has to offer right here in this very Dreamwidth entry under the cut.”
The US branch does not have a catalog online, but there are instructions on how to contact them in the EU post.
