What is this called?

morgandawn: (Cat How... Interesting!)

Does fandom have a word or a phrase for people (fans, journalists…) deliberately asking about fanworks/showing fanworks to the actors and other TPTB. Examples: making the actors read fanfic out-loud, showing them fanart in public and observing their reactions, asking actors in front of an audience about slash, sending/giving actors/TPTB fanworks privately, putting actors/TPTB into positions where they are forced to make a statement about fanworks…

This is not necessarily outing, because it is not always tied to a specific fanwork. Ex: someone asking an actor about slash or mpreg or RPF fiction without naming specific fanworks.

adventures in packing: just found the giant 2-inch thick binder completely full of printed-off pages of every single chapter of the shoebox project that i did like six years ago :D

i have another binder full of old printed-off supernatural and harry potter fics from livejournal XD

aahhhhh, the days of fandom before ao3 and their download function, when everything had to be copied into word just in case the author ever deleted their journal or had their shit deleted by livejournal or ff.net

this is legit fandom history right here XD

Ha! I have the same binder!
